The process is designed to settle every decision that affects design, price, production time, and delivery before the build begins.
Approve the details
Confirm design, dimensions, wood, finish, personalization, price, expected completion date, and delivery method before cutting begins.
Deposit and build
Most made-to-order projects require a 50% deposit. The piece is then built one at a time, with a typical lead time of 10–14 business days.
Receive your piece
Arrange pickup or local delivery around Burlington / Graham. Select smaller products may ship nationwide through Etsy.
Materials & Standards
Real wood has a story of its own.
Natural grain, knots, color shifts, and small variations make every Legacy piece unique. Materials are selected and prepared carefully, but no two boards—or handmade pieces—will be identical.

Species, grain, and color are confirmed during planning. Photographs and digital proofs are guides; the finished board carries its own natural character.
Finish and care
The finish is selected for how the piece will be used. Food-contact, indoor, and outdoor products require different protection and care.
Personalization
Names, dates, insignia, and layouts must be approved before production. Approved spelling and design details guide the build.
Handmade character
Minor variations are evidence of a piece made one at a time—not a factory duplicate. Structural quality and durability remain the standard.

How long will my order take?

Can I personalize an existing design?
Yes. Many pieces can include names, dates, service details, short inscriptions, wood selection, or finish choices. Available options depend on the design.
Do you build completely custom projects?
Legacy accepts select custom work when it fits the shop's craftsmanship, equipment, schedule, and product direction. Share the idea, dimensions, intended use, and any reference photos so it can be evaluated.
Do you ship?
Select smaller products can ship nationwide through Etsy. Large outdoor pieces are generally available for local pickup or delivery in the Burlington / Graham area.
Will my piece look exactly like the photograph?
The approved design and details will be followed, but wood grain, color, knots, and handmade character naturally vary. Those differences make each piece one of a kind.
